The Design / Build Process - What to Expect
The design-build process usually begins with a concept or an idea. We start by meeting you and discussing project goals, existing site and structural conditions, design ideas, budget goals and product alternatives.
We then enter the design phase. Design solutions are prepared by Design South Homes and presented to you for review. We personally assist you with product and finish selections, product research, showroom appointments and developing design details.
The approved final design is used to create a final cost and specifications proposal. After reviewing the proposal in detail with the Client, contract documents are prepared and construction schedules are established.
This description is a simplified overview of what can be an involved process, depending on the nature of the work and the variety of design solutions. Design South Homes believes in fixed contract pricing with detailed specifications of the items included in the contract. This method provides the highest protection for our Clients and is key to creating an optimal financing strategy for a project, whether it involves an Orlando kitchen remodel or construction of a new home.
